Gentlemen and a Scholar........

I remember first meeting Vartan Gregorian at the 2002 Armenian Diaspora Conference in Yerevan. At the time, I didn’t know who he was, but a lot of locals were coming up to him and thanking him for participating . He had this upbeat comical smile on his face, surely a sign of positive chi. He told our small group, that it was very important for each of us to be conscious yet individual Armenian Diaspora members. Never asked him what that specifically predestined, but a year later, after reading this book I could kind of understand what he was conveying.

The Road to Home is a must read. There is a plethora of Internet coverage on Vartan Gregorian, but try to check out these two (2) noteworthy media events:

1)Vartan Gregorian discusses The Road to Home: My Life and Times at the Library of Congress on May 19, 2003.

2)Vartan Gregorian interview with Gail Harris / WBUR.org on May 12, 2003.
